GABBR LSAMP Transfer Bridge Program

The Transfer Summer Bridge initiative gives underrepresented minority community college students that have declared to major in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields at a 4-year college or university an opportunity to get an early start on their academic preparedness and gain a better perspective about the GABBR LSAMP Alliance 4-year institutions and their faculty. Students participating in the Bridge must complete and receive credit for two summer courses required by their major. A minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA from the community college is required.

Additionally, Summer Bridge participants will receive a $3,500 scholarship; engage in learning opportunities to improve study and time management skills; and will be introduced to a network of faculty, staff, and fellow underrepresented minority students. Participants will be required to obtain an overall GPA of 3.0 or above over the summer to be eligible to be an LSAMP Scholar in the Fall.
